Jon E. Block, Ph.D.
Founder & President
Jon Block discovered early that he not only had a passion for anthropology but an aptitude for the musculoskeletal field in general. With inspiration from giants in the field of human origins and osteology, including Mildred Trotter, Donald Johanson & Phillip Tobias, the genesis for a trail-blazing career was set in stone.
Starting as a younger than average student at Washington University, he was immediately drawn into the realm of medicinal science and hooked on learning about age-related changes in the human skeleton, especially osteoporosis. As one whom never shies away from controversy, his novel approach to matters quickly earned him merits from both his peers & professors alike.
Subsequent to an auspicious tenure in academia as a pioneer in the burgeoning field of bone densitometry, he was recruited into executive levels within the private sector. Here Dr. Block gained a deep understanding about the difficulties companies face when navigating through the regulatory process and establishing a presence in the market. Again he quickly found success by simultaneously embracing and challenging the regulatory environment instead of struggling against it.
Soon it was clear that he was well suited to assist others in these matters. Considered a worldwide authority on clinical trial design, development & interpretation, as well as a strategic specialist in linking clinical trial objectives with regulatory & reimbursement goals, a vision was formed and Jon E. Block, Ph.D. Incorporated came into existence in 1993.
Now, nearly two decades later, the vision continues to evolve. Dr. Block has further assembled an all-star team of experts into a professional group, The Jon Block Group.
